MONTEVALLO–The University of Montevallo is seeking help from the community in the form of clothing donations as it hosts the inaugural UM professional clothing drive.

The professional clothing drive will benefit UM students as they prepare for a job interview, internship or any other instance where they need to dress appropriate for a business setting.

The professional clothing drive will take place between Aug. 22 and Sept. 2 where clean, gently used clothing will be accepted.

The clothing drive is hosted by Phi Chi Theta, the Office of Service Learning and the Department of Partnership and Outreach. The organizations are accepting men’s and women’s professional clothing.

Items that can be donated include men’s ties, shirts, jackets, slacks, belts and shoes and women’s shirts, jackets, slacks, skirts, dresses and shoes.

Those wishing to make a donation can drop off clothing items Monday-Friday between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at 845 Valley Street in Montevallo.

Donators may also schedule a pickup by emailing Skolb@montevallo.edu.
