MONTEVALLO – The Montevallo Bulldogs welcomed in region opponent American Christian Academy on Sept. 2 for what turned out to be one of the most exciting games of the night. In a game that saw less than normal scoring from a high-powered Montevallo team, it was the Bulldogs’s defense that did the trick, as Montevall0 (2-0, 1-0) squeaked by with a 14-7 win.

Montevallo’s Caleb Chappel scored on a one-yard dive play in the second quarter, and TaVarius Holman caught a 13-yard fade route in the back of the end zone that was delivered via Zac Oden.

Full stats were unavailable at the press deadline.
