The Alabaster School Board voted unanimously during its Aug. 30 meeting to nominate Board President Adam Moseley for the AASB’s All-State Board Member award.

Each fall, the AASB collects nominations for the All-State Board Member award before selecting five individual Alabama school board members for the honor in October.

Several factors are considered for the award, such as training hours and track record while serving on the local school board.

“This honor – The highest AASB bestows upon individual members – annually celebrates the work of up to five Alabama school board members who have exhibited exemplary boardmanship,” read the AASB website, noting nominees for the award must be approved by the majority of the members of the school board they serve on.

Moseley was nominated for the award at the recommendation of Alabaster School Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers, who also noted the Alabaster School Board is set to receive the AASB’s presidential award for the amount of training it has completed.

“It’s an honor for us to even be able to send a nominee to this,” said School Board member Linda Church.
