ALABASTER – A 29-year-old Homewood woman was pronounced dead after her SUV left the roadway on Sept. 11 and struck a tree on Shelby County 26 near Alabaster, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The wreck happened at about 8:35 p.m. on Sept. 11 when a 1996 Ford Explorer SUV being driven by Shannon Lynne Brasher left the roadway and struck a tree on Shelby County 26 about four miles west of Alabaster.

After emergency responders arrived at the wreck, they pronounced Brasher dead at the scene, according to Alabama Senior State Trooper Chuck Daniel.

The Explorer was the only vehicle involved in the wreck.

As of Sept. 12, the wreck was still being investigated by Alabama State Troopers.
