Sandra Compton Duke, age 65, of Montevallo, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, after a tough battle with cancer.

She was born in Montevallo to the late Algie Compton and Larita Lucas Compton.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Brenda Ellison, Myra Emfinger and Myrtle Compton; brother, Jr. Compton; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Compton.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Melissa Brasher; grandchildren, Kassie Jones and Dusty Herron (Krystle); great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jackson Herron; love of her life, Gene Crowe; brother, Earl Compton; sisters, Edna Stephens (Kermit),  Peggy Lagrone (David) and Glenda Cook (Bob); sister-in-law, Angie Compton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 10-11 a.m., with her funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Montevallo City Cemetery.
