With little to do for entertainment in Helena in the 1940s, taking pictures was a favorite pastime on Sunday afternoons. One of the more popular places was the bridge over the Cahaba River on what is today County Road 52. Shown in this 1947 photo are, from left, Charles Nunnally, Edna Earl Lee and Joe Neal McClanahan. Joe died the following year in an auto accident. (Contributed/City of Helena Museum)
