FROM STAFF REPORTS

According to the newly released rankings by U.S. News & World Report, the University of Montevallo now ranks as the 13th Best Public University in the South, moving up two spots from last year.

“We were very pleased to see we again rose two spots in the U.S. News and World Report rankings,” said UM President Dr. John Stewart. “This is recognition of the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff to the important enterprise of teaching and learning.”

Each year, UM is compared alongside several schools across 12 states. Despite the competition, UM managed to receive impressive accolades in the publication’s annual evaluations.

“Montevallo continues to maintain our academic integrity, even in the face of formidable competition. This recognition is reflective of our commitment to the wonderful students we serve,” said Stewart.

Montevallo is the 37th Best Regional University in the South, marking it as the highest ranked public regional-level university in the state.

Additionally, UM’s military-friendly campus places it as the 26th Best College for Veterans in the South.
