Rodney “Rod” Jones, age 76, of Chelsea, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Rod was a faithful member of East Chelsea Church of Christ and a volunteer at the Chelsea C.O.P. He spent all of his career in the automotive industry in Birmingham, Florida, and Kentucky. His hobbies included music, tennis, and working in his yard.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 23 at Bolton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his son, Jason Scott Jones; sister, Doris Jones Ware; and brother, Billy Ray Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Cherry Jones; daughters, Jody Washington and Shea Watkins (Justin); grandchildren, Brittany Watkins, Robby Watkins, and Zoey Watkins; sister, Elizabeth Nichols (J.D.); brother, Bruce Jones; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
