The Helena Huskies and Chelsea Hornets will meet on the gridiron for a key region game on Friday, Oct. 21 at Chelsea High School, but before then, the two schools and communities will faceoff in a friendly competition to benefit breast cancer research.

The two communities are teaming up to host a “pink out” for the Helena-Chelsea football game at Chelsea High School on Oct. 21.

Both schools are encouraging everyone in both communities to purchase a pink out T-shirt to wear to the football game in a competition to see which community can raise the most money to support breast cancer research.

The cost of each pink out T-shirt is $15 and the deadline to order is Friday, Oct. 7.

All of the proceeds from the T-shirt sale will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama and checks should be made payable to the BCRFA with a completed order form.

The pink T-shirt features a pink breast cancer ribbon wrapped around a football with both team logos on the front, and the back features the phrase “Tackling breast cancer in 2016…. Funding research… Saving lives,” as well as the Helena and Chelsea school logos.

After ordering a T-shirt, individuals may pick them up at either Helena High School or Chelsea High School on Monday, Oct. 17.

Any questions should be directed to Kate Kiefer at 585-6865 or kkiefer50@gmail.com.

A T-shirt order form can be found on both Helena and Chelsea school websites.
