Alice Olivia Kendrick Blankenship, age 89, of Columbiana, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Vanderslice officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Garden of Rest. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Olivia grew up on the family farm in Wilsonville and lived most of her adult life in Columbiana Alabama, where she was a dedicated and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Columbiana. She had a long service in the nursery at her church. She loved working with children and ran a day care from her home for years.

Olivia was born Sept. 9, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Elma Crane Kendrick. She was the third of five children; two preceded her in death, Oland and A.E. (Red) Kendrick.

Olivia was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Blankenship; and children, Johnny and Linda Kay Blankenship.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Susan Burnett and Elisa (Lisa) Chaudhry; son, Robert William Blankenship; brother, William (Buck) Kendrick; and sister, Robbie Lynn Burks. Olivia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother of four, and great grandmother of six.
