PELHAM – A group of businesses in Pelham’s Victoria Plaza and on Canyon Park Drive are welcoming trick-or-treaters this Halloween.

For the third year, the businesses will be giving out candy, and some are offering discounts to customers on Halloween. Everyone is encouraged to wear costumes for the event.

Kai’s Koffee House, KTL Insurance, Neighborhood CPAP, Linda’s Hair Salon, Boost Mobile, Pelham Dry Cleaners, Cottage of Serendipity and Steel City Bargain Center are participating in the event.

“With the way things are now – you want to keep the trick-or-treating tradition alive, but you also want your children to be in a safe environment,” said Kai Smith, owner of Kai’s Koffee and KTL Insurance.

Starting at 5 p.m. families are invited to go trick-or-treating in the plaza. Smith said all are welcome, but the event is ideal for toddlers and kids up to second or third grade.

“All of the businesses are close in proximity, which is helpful because younger kids tend to get tired of walking pretty quick and then they get restless,” she said. “With the event starting at 5, parents will be done before dark and still have time to get home and prepare for the next day.”

The event also helps support local businesses by giving them exposure. At Kai’s Koffee, kids will be given free hot chocolate, or Spooky Brew, with every purchase of a latte or mocha.
