The Alabaster Police Department arrested Sherry Theresa Rhea, who lists an address on Mangrove Drive in Alabaster, on Oct. 15 and charged her with one felony count of domestic violence.

The Class B felony domestic violence offense carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison upon conviction.

Rhea’s arrest came after an Oct. 15 domestic incident, during which she allegedly “choked (the victim) and struck the victim multiple times in the face with a hard-sole shoe,” according to her arrest warrant.

The suspect is now set to appear in Shelby County District Court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m.

As of Oct. 20, Rhea was being held in the Shelby County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
