Kenneth Wesley Owens, age 69 of Montevallo, died at home on Saturday, Oct. 15 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Duluth, Ga., on May 29, 1947 to parents, R. J. Owens and Gladys (Jenkins) Owens, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Owens is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kayren (Lovelady) Owens; three children, Brandon Owens, Brooke Owens and Ashley Smitherman-Owens; sister, Gelene Redmon; and brothers, David and Jerry Owens.

Mr. Owens lived most of his life in Helena. He graduated in 1965 from Thompson High School. He worked for the Bell Systems for 31 years and 12 years for Electronic Data Systems.
