ALABASTER – Lindsey Fischer is currently a senior at Thompson High School, but has already made big plans for her post high school career.

Fischer has announced that she will attend Central Alabama Community College for coach Greg Shivers and signed her letter of intent to attend the school on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

“Playing softball on the collegiate level is what I’ve worked so hard for all thses years and I’m very excited to start this next chapter of my life at Central Alabama,” Fischer said.

She has played softball since she was four years old and loved it since the beginning.

“I have a very athletic family and playing sports just comes naturally to me,” Fischer said.

Lindsey is also a coach on an 8u softball team in the Alabaster community and gave the young players a word of advice.

“If softball makes you happy and you enjoy it, keep working hard and practice every day. It will all be worth it,” she said.

Not only is she doing the right things on the field, but maintains a 3.8 cumulative GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society off the field.

She juggles all of that while playing travel ball solely for the GEAUX PLAY 18u softball team.

“Lindsey is a strong infielder with a great and accurate arm,” said Lindsey’s travel coach of four years Chris Hooper. “She has the ability to hit the ball hard and is clutch on hitting with runners in scoring position. She’s a baller that will play any position you ask her to and always has a good attitude and tries to lift her fellow teammates up when they are down.”

Fischer is the daughter of Martin and Jennifer Fischer who currently live in Alabaster and are from the Hoover area.
