Pelham council appointments several positions

PELHAM – The Pelham City Council approved various appointments to city departments at its Nov. 21 meeting. The council also appointed council members to various municipal boards to serve as council liaisons.

-Larry Palmer was appointed as the police chief for the city of Pelham.

-Danny Ray was appointed as the fire chief for the city of Pelham.

-Richard Lee Barnes was appointed municipal court judge.

-Charlie D. Waldrep was appointed municipal court prosecutor.

-Jeffrey Hester was appointed municipal court public defender.

-Councilwoman Beth McMillan was appointed as the council liaison for Pelham’s police and fire departments and Pelham Parks and Recreation, which includes the Racquet Club.

-Councilman Rick Hayes was appointed as the council liaison for the finance and revenue department, the Pelham Board of Education and the Commercial Development Authority.

-Councilman Ron Scott was appointed as the council liaison for Public Works and Ballantrae Golf Club.

-Councilman Maurice Mercer was appointed as the council liaison for the Pelham Public Library, which includes the Library Board and the Senior Center, and the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

-Councilwoman Mildred Lanier was appointed as the council liaison for the Pelham Board of Education and the Planning Commission.
