PELHAM – Pelham High School and Riverchase Middle are partnering to present its Holiday Celebration Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the PHS auditorium.

The community is invited to attend the musical celebration, which is free to the public and will feature performances by Pelham Oaks and Pelham Ridge elementary schools’ first and fifth graders, the Riverchase Middle Choir, and the Pelham High Choir.

Middle school choir director Marjorie Lee said the event will also feature a visit from Santa Claus. The elementary students will be singing two songs – “December is a Time for Love” and “A Nice, Nice Christmas.”

The Middle school choir is set to sing a medley of five songs including a jazz piece called “‘Zat You Santa Claus,” while the high school choir will sing a seven-song medley of familiar Christmas tunes.

Lee said the middle and high school joined to produce the show, and decided to invite Pelham Ridge and Pelham Ridge to participate also since they didn’t get an opportunity to perform at this year’s Christmas Open House.

“This gives students an opportunity to share what they’ve learned in school and it gives gifted students a chance to perform,” Lee said. “Music makes everybody feel good and we hope that it brings joy.”

Pelham Oaks’ choir director is Jane Snyder, Pelham Ridge’s is Randy Duke and Elizabeth Vice is the director of the high school choir.
