Pelham Ice Arena to host free ice skating event in January

PELHAM – In honor of January being U.S. Figure Skating’s National Skating Month, the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena is hosting a free ice skating event Jan. 29 from 3-5 p.m.

Registration for the event begins at 2:30 p.m. The Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena is located at 500 Amphitheater Road.

The event, Skating is a Blast, features free public skating and skate rental, 30 minutes of group instruction from 3-3:30 p.m., a skating exhibition by local skaters, games and raffle prizes.

Skating is a Blast is free for all ages and provides an opportunity to learn the basics of ice skating from professional instructors in a fun-filled environment.

The arena also offers figure skating and hockey lessons. An eight-week course, from Jan. 2, 2017 to Feb. 25, 2017 is available to the public for $120. Classes are Mondays at 5:45 p.m., Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and Saturdays at 9:45 a.m.
