PELHAM – Online store Small Town Shoppe is offering a way for residents in the Birmingham metropolitan area to show their hometown pride through a collection of baseball caps and decals.

The baseball caps come in each city’s high school colors and feature three letter appliqués that represent various cities in Jefferson and Shelby counties. The website also features decals that can be placed anywhere.

The hats cost $27.99 each and the decals are $3.99 each.

The creator of the online store, Pelham resident John Turner, said he wanted to create a product that allows residents to show support for their hometowns.

To keep in line with the showing support for area cities, Turner said the website was designed by Pelham High School graduate David Koonce, co-owner of marketing, advertising and website design company Webber and Koonce.

Turner said he began working to make his idea a reality at the beginning November and the website was up and running by mid-December.

In the spring Turner said he plans to debut six more baseball cap designs and in the fall he will debut a line of stretch fleece headbands and beanies just in time for football season.

Turner is a member of the Greater Shelby County and Hoover Area chambers of commerce, and starting Jan. 1, 2017 he will have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
