Bessemer man accused of sex crimes against minor

COLUMBIANA – A Bessemer man was arrested and jailed in Shelby County on sex crimes committed against a minor.

Patrick Terrell Marbury, 24, of 16th Way North in Bessemer, faces charges including second-degree sexual abuse, second-degree sodomy and second-degree rape for offenses committed on Dec. 26.

Marbury was arrested by Bessemer police after Hoover police requested a warrant.

The suspect stands accused of subjecting a minor between 12-16 years of age to sexual contact, and engaging in deviate sexual intercourse, according to court records.

Marbury was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Dec. 27 and has been released after posting $66,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing has been set for 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2018.
