It all started with a friend request.

Little did Cody know that when he logged into Facebook that day in 2014, the friend request waiting for him was from the woman he would spend forever with. It was an instant connection. Miranda was working as a registered nurse in Tuscaloosa, and Cody as a quality control manager of a steel company in Bessemer, so the two relied on phone conversations until they finally met face-to-face two months later.

They were inseparable from that day forward. Cody proposed during a Garth Brooks concert in June 2015 and the wedding planning began! A short year later, Cody and Miranda wed on Aug. 13, 2016 at Douglas Manor in Columbiana, Alabama.

It was a steamy August day with spurts of rain showers, but that didn’t put a damper on the excitement that filled the air. The showers cleared just as the ceremony began at 6 p.m. and cast a beautiful rainbow as Miranda walked down the aisle to meet her groom. The bride was escorted by her brother, Riley Stone. The bridal gown was a beautiful, extravagantly beaded Galina Signature with a sweetheart neckline that was accentuated with her mothers pearl necklace. She carried with her a bouquet of white roses and baby’s breath. Surrounded by the love of family and close friends, Cody and Miranda joined as one in marriage.

The rustic-themed reception followed with candle lit centerpieces setting atop wood discs that were hand cut by the bride’s uncle for the special day. Cody and Miranda were celebrated with food, drinks, love, laughter and plenty of dancing. The couple ended the night with a sparkler-lit send-off and began their adventure as husband and wife on the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic.

The couple resides in Calera, Alabama where they just recently purchased their first home together. Miranda is currently a local hospice nurse and Cody remains the QC manager of a steel company. Miranda is the daughter of Tommy and Beverly Pendley of Berry and Cody is the son of Cjae Miske of Athens.
