HELENA–Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was observed on Monday, Jan. 9, and to show support for those who protect and serve, the Farmers Insurance branch of Helena will be holding a month-long fundraiser to help the Helena Police Department find a new K9.

The office of Clint Neville with Farmers Insurance in Helena announced on Jan. 9, that the business wanted to honor the Helena Police Department “for working hard to keep our town as wonderful as it is!”

The agency will be honoring the entire Helena police force to collect as many donations as possible to help replace Bak, the former K9 for HPD who passed away from cancer last year.

Helena citizens are encouraged to go on the Farmers Insurance Clint Neville Agency Facebook page and comment with a story about how the HPD has helped them, a neighbor or the city of Helena in general.

In response to the comments, the agency will make a $25 donation for each story shared about HPD to help them find a new K9.

The contest will run now until Feb. 1, and Farmers Insurance needs the help and input of the Helena community to help raise funds.

For citizens not active on social media, another way to comment is by visiting the Clint Neville Farmers Insurance website. To leave a comment, residents should click on the “contact me” tab where they can submit any stories and comments there.
