ALABASTER – Amazing Grace Worship Center in Alabaster will host a marriage-focused event Feb. 25.

“The Marriage Event” will feature former University of Alabama and Denver Broncos football standout Jeremiah Castille, and his wife, Jean.

“We decided to have the event because we wanted to make an investment in our people,” said Genia Blankenship, Amazing Grace Worship Center pastor Kevin Blankenship’s wife. “We have found that a lot of people are struggling with their marriages, and we believe that if they are struggling in everyday things like marriage, then they can not be productive in other areas of their lives. We are hoping this event will help couples become stronger in their marriages.”

This is the first time for the church to host a marriage-focused event, and Blankenship said the event is open to couples of all ages.

“We have been telling people that it is never too late or too early to invest in your marriage,” Blankenship said.

The event will be held at the church, located at 949 U.S. 31 in Alabaster with two sessions beginning at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

There is a $10 charge per person, which includes lunch and child care, Blankenship said.

Jeremiah Castille and his wife, Jean, founded Jeremiah Castille Foundation with a vision to invest, influence, impact and inspire lives so they will “rebuild and restore generations,” according to the Castille Foundation’s website.

The Castilles provide ministerial programs for marriage as well as family and individual Biblical counseling.

“Jeremiah Castille comes and speaks at our church every year,” Blankenship said. “We have gotten to know him and his wife. He is really big into the championship spirit, but he really champions the spirit of a person as well, and teaching that you have to have all the parts of your life in balance.”

Blankenship said pre-registration is required for the event, which can be done at Amazinggracewc.org or by calling 664-8484.
