HELENA–Motorcycle riders and enthusiasts looking for a locally-owned and operated business specializing in parts, accessories and riding gear that’s also equipped with a full-service service department now have the opportunity to visit the all-new Motorcycle Supply Store in Helena.

The business opened on Feb. 20, and part owner Alan Farmer, who has also ran a successful pest control company for a number of years in Helena, partnered with motorcycle professional Chad Parrish to open the new Motorcycle Supply Store.

Farmer simply called it “a dream and passion” that he has wanted to pursue for quite some time when asked about opening the motorcycle store.

“I’ve ridden bikes since I was 16 so I’ve ridden bikes all my life but it’s just a passion of mine,” Farmer said. “This was a dream and knowing Chad who’s been successful for 20 plus years, he and I just came up with an idea and pulled our resources together and we have fun at what we do.”

Farmer described the new business as not your average service department and motorcycle store.

“Some of the things that make us different is we’re not your typical service department where you walk in and it’s all about the transaction,” Farmer said. “We’re trying to build relationships and that’s why we’ve taken the time and put in details like our service counter. It’s set up like a bar where you can come in and sit down and we have a kiosk where you can order up to 200,000 items online. We have catalogs to where if you want us to find the product for you, that’s no problem. We have access to over 200,000 parts, accessories and riding gear so we basically can get anything and everything. We just tried to make it a relaxed atmosphere and we’re trying to build relationships with people and get to know them.”

Parrish has been riding bikes since he was 4-years-old and has been in the motorcycle business or industry in some form or fashion since 1999.

“I know A-to-Z these bikes including parts, sales, service, tuning and I am a master technician,” Parrish said. “I pretty much fix anything and have been in business since 1999 to current.”

Parrish also supports several race teams and team members from all over the region will drive to see Parrish for expertise and service.

In addition to the actual parts and service department offered at the Motorcycle Supply Store located at 101 Gunner Lane in Helena, the business also has an online store and will ship parts to customers all over the country for free.

Farmer and Parrish said the Motorcycle Supply Store offers parts and can service all makes and models including Harley-Davidson, Metrics, ATVs, dirt bikes, side-by-sides and more.

Farmer is a Helena native and said it was never a question on where the business was going to be located.

“There was never a question that we were going to start this business in Helena,” Farmer said. “One of the things I brag about and I’m really pleased about is that I’m a Helena native. I love Helena and there was no question that we were going to start our business here and we built this retail store using nothing but Helena businesses. We used Helena contractors and businesses for everything. From graphics, to design, to flooring and even the brick wall and everything was done locally and we feel real good about that.”

The Motorcycle Supply Store is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
