CHELSEA- The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for three suspects who allegedly fraudulently used credit cards at several businesses in the Chelsea area. According to SCSO Capt. Jeff Hartley, the crimes occurred in February.

Hartley said investigators are using pictures taken from security footage at the Walmart Supercenter off of U.S. 280 on Thursday, Feb. 12 to identify the suspects or their vehicle. Investigators believe the three suspects are working together and have been involved in several similar incidents throughout the Southeast.

Hartley said no one has been identified by police as of Wednesday, March 8.

“We think they may reside somewhere in the Northeast part of the country and come through southern states with fraudulent credit cards they obtained illegally,” Hartley said.

The SCSO encourages anyone who has more information about this crime to contact them by calling 669-4181 or submitting an anonymous tip at Shelbyso.com, or by calling Investigator Nic Kirkland at 670-6122.
