CHELSEA – A Tuesday morning wreck on U.S. 280 forced the closure of three lanes of traffic.

Only one westbound lane remained open as emergency response crews worked at the scene of the wreck, according to Chelsea Fire Chief Wayne Shirley.

The wreck was near the intersection with Bear Creek Road and caused significant delays in both directions of U.S. 280.

Two injuries were reported by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Shirley urged motorists traveling through the area to use caution.
