Pelham’s Spring Clean Up Day on April 1

PELHAM –Pelham residents will have a chance to declutter their homes by disposing of unused electronics, heavy trash items and shredding un-needed documents during the city’s Spring Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 1.

Residents will have the opportunity to discard items not normally picked up by Advanced Disposal by placing the items curbside by 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 1.

The Shelby County Landfill is waiving dump fees on this date for residents dropping off items at the landfill.

ProTec Recycling will be at Pelham City Hall from 8 a.m. to noon providing electronic recycling services. It will cost $15 to dispose of CRT Monitors, secure hard drive destruction is $10 and TVs, including CRT, LED, Plasma, LED and portable TVs, are 35 cents per pound. No console or DPL televisions will be accepted.

On Saturday, April 29, the Pelham Public Library is partnering with Shred-It to provide free document shredding for residents. Shred-It will be at the library from 10 a.m. to noon. Shed-It will shed up to six boxes for free.
