Plans approved for strip shopping center off 119

HOOVER – Hoover’s City Council approved plans for a strip shopping center near the intersection of U.S. 280 and Alabama 119 at its meeting on March 20.

The property is owned by 119 Partners II LLC, and a request for rezoning and conditional use approval was made by Norman Tynes.

A public hearing was held about the matter, but no one was present at the meeting to speak for or against the development.

The council unanimously approved rezoning the property at 6920 Cahaba Valley Road from CP – Preferred Commercial Office District to C2 – Community Business District an approved conditional use of the property as a shopping center.

Plans for the triangular, 1.75-acre site call for a 9.200-square-foot building and parking between the Meadow Brook post office and an existing office building.

Developers plan to rent the space to retailers.
