Frances Marilyn Wood Parrish, age 84, of Helena, was born May 3, 1932 in Maylene, and went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 27.

Frances wants her family and friends to remember that she lived her funeral each day of her life. Celebrate the fact she lived and has now passed from this life to another. Her life has been blessed in so many ways and she definitely believed in life eternal. She wants us to remember the good times and know that she was blessed when God sent her three of the most wonderful sons to live here on earth with her. Her family remembers her as a classy lady who loved life, never met a stranger and loved helping people. Most of all she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Frances was the city clerk of Helena for 28 years and held CMC certification. She also served as Vice President of the North Central Alabama Retired State Employees Association.

She was predeceased by her husband, James A. Parrish, Sr.; parents, William Oscar and Mary Ann Smith Wood; all of her siblings, Roy Calvin, William Franklin, Norman C., Gordon, Lois K. Wood, Nell Wood Allen and Lorene Wood Bearden.

Her survivors include her children, James A. Parrish, Jr., Jason A. Parrish (Debbie) and Jarrod A. Parrish (Sherry); grandchildren, Josh Parrish, Jessica Parrish (Shayan Movahed), Amber Self (Bobby), Jodi Tennyson (Brandon), Reed Parrish and Aidan Parrish; great grandchildren, Autumn Parrish, Lacy Parrish, Frannie Self, Robert Self, Lelia Movahed and John Wyatt Tennyson.

A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 at Charter Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m.
