Jazz in the Park returns to Helena July 9

HELENA–For the third straight summer, Magic City Smooth Jazz and the Jazz in the Park program will visit the Helena Amphitheater to provide a free concert featuring smooth jazz artists to make for a fun and relaxing summer evening near the banks of Buck Creek.

The free concert will take place Sunday, July 9, from 6-9 p.m., at the Helena Amphitheater highlighted by Joe Carnaggio Trio and Phil Denny providing the entertainment.

In years past, many families enjoyed the jazz entertainment in a laid-back environment while relaxing in tailgate chairs and enjoying food and beverages.

Magic City Smooth Jazz and the Jazz in the Park program is dedicated to enhancing cultural activities through various styles of jazz in the state of Alabama. Since its inception in 2008, Magic City Smooth Jazz has hosted more than 90 free concerts for the public while presenting more than 275 emerging and established artists while impacting the lives of more than 20,000 adults and children, according to the organization.
Magic City Smooth Jazz is an IRS registered 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization with the mission being to expose and engage audiences in culturally underserved communities in the state of Alabama to various styles of jazz at no cost to the public.

The Jazz in the Park program has expanded to offer 25 free concerts in 2017, including the July 9 concert in Helena. The first free concert will take place April 9 and the final concert of the season will be held on Oct. 1.
