HOOVER – The Women’s Economic Stability Initiative at Jefferson State Community College is hosting their free workshop program Back to Work 50+ on April 12.

This program will be held at the Shelby-Hoover campus from 1-3 p.m.

Back to Work 50+ is a program launched by AARP Foundation to increase services and resources for older job seeking candidates over the age of 50. The AARP foundation partners with other organizations providing local workforce services, public benefits application assistance and employer engagement; connecting low-income seniors to in-demand jobs located within in their communities.

Seniors are encouraged to apply and learn more about the seven smart strategies for job searching. The program is also designed to help build seniors’ economic stability while employed or employment seeking.

Jefferson State Community College is one of six community colleges selected nationwide to offer the program after receiving a grant from AARP.
