Sheriff’s Office to conduct safety checkpoint near Oak Mountain Middle

NORTH SHELBY – On Monday morning, April 24, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies plan to conduct a driving safety checkpoint Cahaba Valley Road, or Alabama 119, near Oak Mountain Middle School, between midnight and 1:30 a.m.

The checkpoint will be highly visible and will involve marked patrol vehicles with emergency lights and uniformed deputies.

Motorists traveling through the checkpoint are asked to slow down, prepare to stop and watch for deputies on the roadway. Motorists may be asked to present their driver’s license and proof of liability insurance, and should only be detained momentarily.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office encourages all motorists to drive safely, obey traffic laws and don’t drink and drive.
