CHELSEA- Lots ranging from around one acre to 52 acres recently went up for sale in June at the Chelsea Reserve. The property is located on Shelby County 336 and Dogwood Drive, and is zoned for Chelsea schools.
Scott Weygand, who has owned the land the Chelsea Reserve is located on, said development for the Chelsea Reserve began last April by W Development, LLC.
According to Weygand, the different property sizes will attract a diverse set of families and help the city of Chelsea accommodate for growth within the next few years.
“Hopefully it gives something for everybody,” Weygand said. “The more roofs in Chelsea, the more attractive it will be for businesses.”
Dorothy O’Hanlon of DAL Properties said the showcase homes that were built on a few of the properties are currently up for sale.
O’Hanlon said most of the properties are intended for potential homeowners who are looking to build a house from scratch.
“This is for the person who wants to build a custom home,” O’Hanlon said.
So far, O’Hanlon said the Chelsea Reserve has been well received by the community, and about six families have already expressed their interest.
