Maylene man dies in July 4 crash

SPRINGVILLE – A 21-year-old Maylene man was pronounced dead at the scene of a July 4 wreck off Interstate 59 near Springville, according to the Alabama State Troopers.

The wreck happened at about 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, when a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Maylene resident Andrew James Lint left the roadway and struck a bridge support column.

The wreck happened near I-59 Exit 154 in Springville.

Lint was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Troopers.

As of July 5, the wreck was still being investigated by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
