Women of all ages will have the opportunity to come together at “Delight,” hosted by The Church at Brook Hills Sept. 22-23.

“This is a time for women of all ages, and from all generations to come together,” said Associate Singles 20s/30s Minister Ashley Chestnut. “One of the things that led us to host a women’s conference is we heard from a lot of women in the church that were requesting one.”

The theme of the conference is “Delight: An Invitation to Taste, See and Take Refuge in Our Good God,” which is based off of the Biblical scripture Psalm 34:8.

The event will feature Trillia Newbell, a speaker and author of “Fear And Faith,” and “Enjoy.”

Newbell will teach the event’s main sessions.

Chestnut said there will be a dessert fellowship on Sept. 22, and a small market will be set up at the event featuring ministries the church partners with, or church members that have items to sell.

“We know women love to shop, and we thought it would provide a good opportunity for women to enjoy shopping as well as interacting with others,” Chestnut said. “We have a couple of ladies in the church that have written books, and we also have others in the church that make different things that will be available at the market. It will also allow those that attend the conference to be exposed to some of the ministries that the church partners with.”

Chestnut said the conference is geared toward women sixth grade up above, and while no childcare is provided during the conference, nursing infants are welcome.

There is an early-bird registration of $25 for those that register before Aug. 6, and a guaranteed conference “goodie.”

After Aug. 6, the cost for the event is $35.

The church is also partnering with both Sav-A-Life Vestavia and Shelby locations during the conference, and asking those that attend to bring diapers and wipes as donations on Sept. 22.

The church is located at 3145 Brook Highland Parkway.
