Attempted murder case headed to grand jury

COLUMBIANA – A case involving a man allegedly trying to run over a victim with a vehicle on May 9 in Calera has been bound over to a grand jury.

Oscar Waldheim III, 62, formerly of Hoover, has been charged with attempted murder and two counts of reckless endangerment.

He has been held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $52,000 since his arrest on May 10.

At Waldheim’s preliminary hearing on June 8 with District Court Judge Daniel A. Crowson Jr. presiding, the case was bound over to the next available grand jury session.
