Free ice skating competition to be held at PCC July 28-29

PELHAM – The Birmingham Figure Skating Club, a U.S. Figure Skating club, will host the Magic City Ice Classic 2017 at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena July 28-29.

The competition will take place from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, July 28, and from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 29.

The Magic City Ice Classic 2017, a U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competition, will be free to the public. The two-day competition includes 102 skaters from four states competing in 175 scheduled events.

At the competition, competitors will be evaluated by elite judges using a computerized judging system. The competition includes events from Learn to Skate to Senior Free Skate, Dance and Showcase Events.

The higher-level freestyle skaters will compete Saturday, July 29.
