COLUMBIANA – Mundy Motor Company, Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate its new building and the addition of Columbiana Tractor, LLC on Thursday, July 27.

While Mundy Motors has been operating in Columbiana since 2014, co-owner Chris Mundy said he and his wife and co-owner Amanda are happy to have a permanent building.

“It’s a re-grand opening for Mundy Motors,” Chris Mundy said. “We transitioned from a trailer to a building.”

Amanda Mundy thanked Renasant Bank in Columbiana for their financial help, and said she expects to see the new building help Mundy Motors establish more business relationships in the community.

“Without Carl Orso from Renasant Bank, none of this would have been possible,” Amanda Mundy said. “When you have a permanent building, people have more faith and trust in you, because you’re in it for the long haul.”

Jeff Adams said Columbiana Tractor, LLC, which is run out of the same building as Mundy Motors, is one of the few tractor dealerships in Shelby County. According to Adams, its goal is to provide affordable tractors, parts and services to the community.

“We’ve been working on bringing a new tractor dealership and service to Columbiana for two years. We knew there was a void in this part of the county when it came to tractors,” Adams said. “We are the dealership for central Alabama.”

Adams, who co-owns Columbiana Tractor with Chris Mundy, said the dealership only sells LS brand tractors, which were rated as number one in overall satisfaction by the Equipment Dealers Association in 2016. Columbiana Tractor carries a full line of tractor implements and has an onsite mechanic who can service any make of tractor.

Columbiana city council member Leslie Whiting thanked the Mundys and Adams for their business contributions to the city, and promised the city’s support.

“We’re glad that you’re here, and we’re 100 percent behind you,” Whiting said.

Mundy Motors is located at 208 West College Street, and is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
