Victim of fatal wreck identified

NORTH SHELBY – The person killed in a four-vehicle wreck in the 4600 Block of Valleydale Road on Monday, July 31, has been identified as Michael Francis Xavier Lee, 34, of Shelby County.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Alabama State Troopers, Hoover Police Department officers and North Shelby Fire Department personnel responded to the wreck, which occurred at about 3 p.m. and resulted in injuries to multiple vehicle occupants, according to information provided by SCSO.

Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego expressed his condolences to Lee’s family and friends for their loss.

The Shelby County Traffic Homicide Investigation unit is investigating the cause of the wreck, and a final report may take some time to complete, according to the press release.
