Hoover opens RV Park to hurricane evacuees

HOOVER – The Hoover Metropolitan Complex, managed by Sports Facilities Management, will open its RV Park to residents of affected states who are fleeing devastating Hurricane Irma, as well as those who are dealing with the lingering effects of Hurricane Harvey, effective immediately.

The 170-space Hoover RV Park features Wi-Fi as well as water, sewer and electrical hookups.

Those who choose to use the Hoover RV Park will be provided a free stay with proof of Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia or South Carolina residency for temporary refuge.

Interested persons should contact the Hoover Metropolitan Complex’s Guest Services between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at (205) 739-7364 to reserve their spot or e-mail at RVPark@hoovermetcomplex.com.

“Being able to provide a safe and secure location to those who are fleeing Hurricane Irma and the flooding from Hurricane Harvey is the city of Hoover’s way of trying to help any and all families who are seeking refuge from these storms,” said Monty Jones Jr., SFM’s General Manager at Hoover Met Complex.
