HELENA–The Helena Huskies Volleyball team has gotten off to a quick start this season and delivered another impressive performance on Thursday, Sept. 14, to open area play.

With Hurricane Irma causing school closings the week of Sept. 11, the Huskies began area play on Sept. 14, where they made quick work of the visiting Chelsea Hornets.

Helena defeated Chelsea in straight sets 25-18, 25-18 and 25-11 to grab an early lead in the area standings.

The Huskies were led by Emma Johnson, Macy Lowery, Katie Lively and Lindy Long.

Johnson recorded 11 kills, zero errors and three blocks, Lowery finished with eight kills, Lively had 15 digs and Long recorded 13 digs.

Helena improved its overall record to 5-2 and will take on area rival Pelham on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
