HELENA–The changing of leaves, cooler temperatures, pumpkins and more will soon mark the start of fall in Helena, but this October, residents from the city and surrounding areas will have another reason to be excited.

Members of the Helena Business Association, city leaders, the Helena Belles and friends and family of Jamie and Amy Griffin arrived at Griffin Farms of Helena on Thursday, Sept. 21, to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony of a new pumpkin patch that will officially open to the public on Sunday, Oct. 1.

The pumpkin patch will feature plenty of fun attractions for the whole family as those at the farm on Sept. 21, got a first glimpse of what would be available at the farm on weekends in October.

The Griffin family farm consists of roughly 160 acres located off Shelby County 17 in Helena, and beginning Sunday, Oct. 1, the farm will have a pumpkin patch with loads of entertainment for everyone.

The pumpkin patch will be open every weekend during the month of October with an admission fee of $10.

Jamie fired up a tractor after the ribbon cutting ceremony as several in attendance loaded onto a trailer to get a VIP tour of the pumpkin patch on the property.

The $10 admission will include hayrides, a tire mountain, rope climbs and tire swings, hay maze and obstacles, petting zoo access, big and small land slides, fun games, corn barn and silo playhouses.

Additional activities will include pony rides, Bouncin’ B’s bounce house, a trampoline bungee jump, craft vendors the weekend of Oct. 7, food trucks and Charlie Choo Choo train rides.

Helena City Councilwoman Alice Lobell and Helena Business Association member Kristi Scozzaro both took the tour of the property and expressed excitement about the pumpkin patch that will be available right in the Helena city limits.

The pumpkin patch will be open on Saturdays in October from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sundays in October from noon to 6:30 p.m.
