HELENA–The Helena Police Department has launched a new interactive website with a variety of features that will now allow a user to report crimes, request extra patrol and more.

Helenapolice.org features several different tabs on its website that includes a home page, an action center, registered sex offenders, frequently asked questions, employment opportunities, information page and a Helena Police Explorers page.

The “Action Center” acts as the “online communication portal to the Helena Police Department,” according to the website.

The tab gives the user the ability to request extra patrol to a residence if it is known they will be out of town, a section to report a crime or suspicious activity, a section to discuss a traffic or parking situation and a section to report barking or lost dogs.

The Helena Police Department consists of 28 sworn police officers and eight non-sworn dispatch personnel, according to the department.

While the website may be accessed 24 hours per day, the department reminds Helena citizens to still dial 911 if an emergency situation were to arise.

Other features of the website includes a map showing a list of registered sex offenders, an information page providing tips, city information and more.

Direct links to the HPD social media accounts are also included on the website.
