PELHAM – Legacy Gymnastics in Pelham recently broke ground on its new building, which is located on Applegate Parkway. According to owner Brianna Mitchell, Legacy Gymnastics has outgrown its current location on Chandalar Place and will be using the new building to help the business grow.

“We currently have around 350 students,” Mitchell said. “We’re hoping to increase enrollment and offer more classes.”

Mitchell said the new building has 15,000 square feet, including office space, which is about 5,000 square feet larger than the current location’s building. The new building will also have a designated room for dance classes and a multipurpose room for fitness classes. In addition to the increase in size, Mitchell said she will own the new building instead of renting it, which is what she’s doing at the current location.

“We are thrilled,” Mitchell said. “When I opened Legacy Gymnastics 10 years ago, my goal was to own a building one day.”

Mitchell also said she chose to have the new building located near Pelham Ridge Elementary School I order to make the Legacy Gymnastics more accessible for many of her students.

“Being right across from the elementary school will be awesome,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell said she expects the building to be complete by this November and plans to move Legacy Gymnastics to the new location in the spring of 2018.

“There is a lot to be done before the physical building comes about,” Mitchell said.
