ALABASTER – Trish Morrissette has always had a love of clothes and a desire to empower women to be bold, fierce, and fabulous.

“I believe when women feel good about themselves, they can inspire others to also feel good,” Morrissette said. “You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be confident in how you look.”

Morrissette, and her husband, Derrick, are planning to open Trish M Fashions, a clothing boutique located at 124 First Ave. W. in Alabaster, near Alabaster Tire and Auto..

A grand opening will be Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., with the store-front open weekly Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The idea to open a boutique originated after Morrissette created a fashion blog three years ago, which helped serve as a ministry through Trish M Ministries to help women feel good about themselves, both inwardly and outwardly.

“I was ministering to women by putting pieces together, and showing them how to take affordable clothes and make it into something they could not only wear, but feel great in,” Morrissette said. “I always got wonderful feedback from women seeing the outfits and wanting to know not only where they could purchase the looks, but how much they appreciated me showing them how to pair certain pieces together.”

Morrissette said she would post a daily outfit of something she was wearing to showcase a variety of looks for other women to view.

“After three years, God put it in my heart to open a boutique,” Morrissette said. “My goal is to offer fabulous pieces that will help inspire women to find something they love to wear.”

The store primarily features women’s clothing right now, but Morrissette eventually hopes to offer a line for men, as well as looks for the whole family.

Currently, the age demographic of the store ranges from about 20 to 65, Morrissette said.

“We have looks for every woman, whatever her style might be,” Morrissette said. “If we don’t have something in particular, we can help you find something by ordering samples and putting together a look that a woman can be proud of.”

According to the store’s website, the store “works hard to come up with pieces that will take your fashion style to another level. We encourage women to look and feel their very best, from the inside out. Looking good and feeling good is key to next level living.”

Morrissette will still maintain her fashion blog in addition to operating the boutique and will feature outfits available at the store and online for purchase.

“It is such a blessing to see how many women are a blessing to me,” Morrissette said. “When women feel good about themselves, they can do anything.”

During the grand opening, the entire store will be 25-percent off of clothing, excluding clearance items.
