Published in the Shelby County Reporter June 29, 2016. “Jefferson Davis Ruffin. “Share and share alike” was the dying wish of J. L. Ruffin for his sons. He instructed them to keep no accounts on themselves and to take what was needed when needed. The arrangement must have worked. Jefferson Davis Ruffin [1861-1948] and his brothers remained in business longer than anyone in Helena, then or since.” See HELENA, page 61.
