Chelsea passes property ordinance, resolution

CHELSEA – The city of Chelsea recently passed an ordinance and a resolution related to municipal property at regularly scheduled city council meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

During the meeting, the Chelsea city council unanimously voted to declare a former city fire station and 0.62 acres of land on Chesser Drive next to Applebee’s. Mayor Tony Picklesimer said the fire station has been out of commission at least since the beginning of his term a year ago.

According to Picklesimer, the city is in the beginning stages of trying to sell the property to Kelly Page Orthodontics.

The city also passed an ordinance to authorize Picklesimer to negotiate and make a down payment on property located next to the Chelsea Community Center.
