Roy Hadaway, age 74, of Calera, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Calera Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Dr. Jason Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens next to his beloved wife, June. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Roy was an active member of Calera Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, Budget Administration / Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and various other places of service for over 40 years. Roy was a Licensed Public Accountant for 35 years and owned H.H. Accounting Service in Calera. He also served as Calera City Finance Director. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Marine.

Mr. Hadaway is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, June Hadaway; and brothers, Rev. Jimmy Hadaway and Rev. Bob Hadaway.

He is survived by his fiancé, Suzette Hood and her sons, Kevin Gardner and Wes Hood; children, Mark Hadaway (Corinne), Stacie Lockhart, and Amy Baker; grandchildren, Blake Lockhart, Lindsay Lockhart, and Tommy Baker; sister, Debbie Mauldin (Larry); sisters-in-law, Betty and Mabel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CBC Debt or Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.
