Members of the local Shelby County state legislative delegation will gather to share their thoughts and perspectives on the issues facing Alabama during the Legislative Preview Luncheon on Friday, Jan. 12.

The delegates will discuss topics the Alabama Senate and Alabama House of Representatives will be discussing and debating during the 2018 legislative session.

The luncheon, cohosted by the Greater Shelby County, Montevallo and South Shelby chambers of commerce, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jefferson State Community College’s Health Science Building located at 4600 Valleydale Road in Birmingham.

The Alabama State Legislature is set to reconvene in Montgomery on Jan. 9.

“We’re pleased to once again collaborate with our fellow chambers in Shelby County on this worthwhile program,” said Kirk Mancer, president and CEO of the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.  “We believe it’s vitally important for Shelby County’s business community to meet with – and hear from – our legislative delegation so that we can better understand the issues they’ll be discussing in the upcoming legislative session,” Mancer said.

The investment for lunch is $15 for chamber investors and $25 for future investors.

Reservations are requested by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 10.  For additional information, or to make reservations, please contact the Greater Shelby County Chamber at 663-4542 or visit the chamber’s website at www.shelbychamber.org.
