ALABASTER – Those looking to get good deals on everything from children’s clothes to furniture while helping kids’ ministries at Alabaster First United Methodist Church will have a chance to do so in early March.

The spring Renewed Threads consignment sale will be held from March 8-10 at the Methodist Church’s Restore building, which is at 128 Market Center Drive in Alabaster. March 8 will be a preview night beginning at 7 p.m., and patrons can pay $5 to be among the first to have access to the items for sale.

“We just started the presale night last year for people who wanted to be the first to shop, and it was very popular,” said event organizer Rachel Olis, noting the sale has grown steadily over the past eight years.

The sale will be open to the public for free on March 9 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and on March 10 from 8 a.m.-noon. All remaining items will be half-off on March 10.

As with past Renewed Threads events, the sale will feature plenty of gently used infant, toddler and children’s clothing up to size 16, maternity clothing, nursery décor and furniture, toys, books and more, Olis said.

Over the past several years, the sale has packed the Restore building with a variety of children’s items, and has drawn hundreds of shoppers from throughout the area. Olis said the sale has been especially popular with grandparents who are looking to make their homes child-friendly without paying retail prices for items.

All proceeds from the sale benefit the Methodist Church’s children’s ministries.

As of Jan. 10, the sale still had about 25 open vendor spots, and new-consignor registration was set to open on Jan. 11. Returning vendor registration is already open.
