HOOVER – Three Jaguars scored in double figures as Spain Park High School’s girls basketball team cruised to a 58-20 win over visiting Oak Mountain on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

SPHS (18-3) raced out to a 28-3 lead and never looked back.

The Jags led 16-3 after one period of play, 32-6 at halftime and 51-17 going into the fourth quarter.

Sarah Ashlee Barker (six points in the first period) and Claire Holt (eight points) triggered Spain Park’s fast start and finished as the game’s leading scorers with 15 points and 14 points, respectively.

Barrett Herring added 11 points for the Jaguars, while Christen Rushing had eight points.

Kailey Rory led the Eagles (13-5) with 10 points.
